Hormones And Peptides

Hormones And Peptides

Peptide hormones are hormones whose molecules are peptides. Peptide hormones have shorter amino acid chain lengths than protein hormones. These hormones have an effect on the endocrine system of animals, including humans. Most hormones can be classified as either amino-acid-based hormones (amine, peptide, or protein) or steroid hormones.

The former are water-soluble and act on the surface of target cells via second messengers; the latter, being lipid-soluble, move through the plasma membranes of target cells (both cytoplasmic and nuclear) to act within their nuclei.

Adrenocorticotropic hormone

Adrenocorticotropic hormone is a polypeptide tropic hormone produced by and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. It is also used as a medication and diagnostic agent. ACTH is an important component of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and is often produced in response to biological stress.

Growth hormone

Growth hormone (GH) or somatotropin, also known as human growth hormone (hGH or HGH) in its human form, is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth, cell reproduction, and cell regeneration in humans and other animals such as the Equine Growth Hormone (EGH). It is thus important in human development. GH also stimulates production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and increases the concentration of glucose and free fatty acids.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide normally produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary. Present in animals since early stages of evolution, in humans it plays roles in behavior that include social bonding, love, reproduction, childbirth, and the period after childbirth.

Vasopressin

Human vasopressin, also called antidiuretic hormone, arginine vasopressin or argipressin, is a hormone synthesized from the AVP gene as a peptide prohormone in neurons in the hypothalamus, and is converted to AVP.

Calcitonin

Calcitonin is a 32 amino acid peptide hormone secreted by parafollicular cells of the thyroid in humans and other chordates in the ultimopharyngeal body. It acts to reduce blood calcium, opposing the effects of parathyroid hormone.

Gastrointestinal hormone

The gastrointestinal hormones constitute a group of hormones secreted by enteroendocrine cells in the stomach, pancreas, and small intestine that control various functions of the digestive organs

Anti-Müllerian hormone

Anti-Müllerian hormone, also known as Müllerian-inhibiting hormone, is a glycoprotein hormone structurally related to inhibin and activin from the transforming growth factor beta superfamily, whose key roles are in growth differentiation and folliculogenesis

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin HCG

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, or HCG, is a natural Injectable Steroids hormone of the human body that is produced in the placenta during pregnancy. It was originally produced in an artificial form for medical purposes. Today, Chorionic Gonadotropin is actively used by athletes taking testosterone. It is often used together with other drugs (Clomid and Anastrozole) as part of post-cycle therapy after a course of steroids.

Equipoise

Equipoise (Boldenone Undecylenate Injection) is recommended as an aid for treating debilitated horses when an improvement in weight, haircoat or general physical condition is desired. Debilitation often follows disease or may occur following overwork and overexertion.
Boldenone undecylenate, or boldenone undecenoate, sold under the brand names Equipoise and Parenabol among others, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which is used in veterinary medicine, mainly in horses. It was formerly used in humans as well. It is given by injection into muscle.
