Omnitrope Injection
Omnitrope is a Somatropin solution for injection, rh-GH is a purified recombinant growth hormone prepared by using either Escherichia coli or mammalian-cells. Endogenous human growth hormone (hGH) is produced in the pituitary gland.
Omnitrope is a respected provider of growth hormone for both children and adults who require increased circulating hormone levels. It comes in two forms, as a pre-loaded injection pen and in a vial with a kit.
Dosage And Administration
Omnitrope is a prescription medication. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.
The vial, which must be refrigerated, comes with all the materials needed for injection and clear instructions. To begin, patients can take a daily dosage of 0.15 – 0.3 milligrams, escalating each month as necessary by adding 0.1 milligrams to the daily dosage.
Doctors can calculate individualized dosages by considering body weight. Treatment with Omnitrope for short stature should be discontinued when the epiphyses are fused.
Pediatric Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD)
Generally, a dosage of 0.16 to 0.24 mg/kg body weight /week is recommended. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.
Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS)
Generally, a dosage of 0.24 mg/kg body weight/week is recommended. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.
Small for Gestational Age (SGA)
Generally, a dosage of up to 0.48 mg/kg body weight/week is recommended. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.
Turner Syndrome (TS)
Generally, a dose of 0.33 mg/kg body weight/week is recommended. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.
Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS)
Generally, a dose up to 0.47 mg/kg of body weight/week is recommended. The weekly dose should be divided over 6 or 7 days of subcutaneous injections.

How do you administer Omnitrope?
For Vials:
Omnitrope can be injected with a prepackaged syringe with needle. Your doctor will tell you the exact type of needles and syringes to use to inject your Omnitrope®. For details, refer to the Omnitrope vial user manual.
For Cartridges:
Omnitrope® cartridges must be administered with the corresponding Omnitrope pen delivery system. For more information on the Omnitrope pen, please read the corresponding user manual
How long does it last?
For Vials:
Each vial of Omnitrope may last for several injections depending on the prescribed dose. Once the vial has been opened, and the dry powder is mixed with the diluent, the mixed solution is stable for up to 21 days.
For Cartridge:
Each cartridge of Omnitrope® may last for several injections depending on the prescribed dose. Once opened, the cartridge is only stable for up to28 days. Any cartridges, while in the pen device, must be stored in the refrigerator (36 – 46° Fahrenheit). TrenaRapid 10ml
Storage
Store this medication in a refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. Throw away any unused medicine after the beyond use date. Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.
